Investigation Assessment Judgment

Investigation Assessment Judgment

A young girl has disappeared in Cape Breton, and the family is desperate. The police don't seem to be doing anything, so they look for help elsewhere. Then small details start to fit together into signs that something dark and evil is going on. Police, a private investigator, psychologists and even a priest trained in exorcisms get involved.

Part police procedural, part supernatural thriller and all East Coast, this latest offering by Jeremy Akerman may very well be his best. Propulsive, original and jam-packed with a cast of fascinating and entertaining characters, this is a real page-turner that had me on the edge of my seat.

Akerman's latest novel takes you into the small villages of Cap Lemoine, St. Peters, Cheticamp, and Grand Étang. With his colourful, quirky, and sometimes humorous characters, he weaves a mysterious whodunit.

A breathtaking mystery wrapped up in suspense and intrigue in the rural reaches of Cape Breton. Akerman uses an interesting cast of characters and mysterious circumstances to pull the reader into the story. A unique presentation takes the reader to the story's compelling and satisfying conclusion. A master storyteller who captures the small-town life that is the "real" Nova Scotia. The book will keep you eagerly turning pages until the last paragraph.

    and the award-winning 'Crow' series
