Tough All Over
In Book 2 of Rhoda Hill's Love Shack series, Claire is back home, after too long away, to take care of her mother and to pick up the threads of her medical career.
But Beau is back too, and he is the last person she wants to see or talk with, even though his face and his touch hover in her mind. Is there enough room in this small town for them to avoid colliding?

reviewer comments
Hill gives us time to become acquainted with her characters as we would friends and neighbours, drawn to some, repelled by others. Fiction imitates life with easily relatable scenarios of trauma, grief, yearning and love. Characters navigate highs and lows, occasionally learning overdue lessons in surprising ways.

Beau and Claire develop their relationship as one might develop a film in an old camera, taken some seventeen years earlier…with caution and care.
Beau had always been sure of his love for Claire. She is more stand-offish, perhaps because she moved home with a secret. Will her new tattoo give that secret away?
I am drawn to stories with a hint of reality. This story offer a strong dose of reality woven into a delightful fiction.
I was shocked to read the cliff hanger when I turned to the last page. I am now anxiously awaiting book three in the Love Shack series.
